Hannah On Stage

Tonight was Hannah's night. We all attended her 5th grade concert at school. They sang several songs and Hannah had a solo. She had a speaking part in a song about a fish. Her line was "No, no, no. It's humuhumunukunukuapua'a. It can only be found in Hawaii, it's their unofficial state fish". That was a mouthful!

I will add pics of Hannah's big night as soon as they are developed. Great job, Hannah Banana!

TEENAGERS!!

Boy oh boy, it is my hope and prayer that parents of all kids have the kind of week that we have had so far. I mean one day our son turns THIRTEEN and the VERY next day turns around and get himself CPR Certified! I mean he could have dyed his hair purple, pierce (or at least try to) his ears, or other stuff. But no, he does something like this!I truly hope that all parents have to worry about their teens (yes Brian, that includes you twice)doing the same thing. VERY PROUD of Jake.

Jacob decided to attend the certification class that was offered by the Boy Scout troop that he is with and he passed.

Way to go Jake. I am so VERY PROUD of you for stepping up and doing this.

Round Two

Ok, here's round two of pictures from Jacob's summer camp adventures.

This is what it looks like trying to get the Scouts and their gear all ready for a road trip. Let's play a game of "Where's Jacob?".

This is the only mode of transportation they allow for daily activities. Jacob told us that the classes he had taken were always so far apart and that they had to hike a long way just to get to the dining hall. I guess after walking that far, you might as well eat what they give you.

Jake did tell us that there were some advantages to being out in the wilderness. For Example:

He also got to see a GIANT Eagle's nest as well as lots of other deer (too bad it wasn't hunting season).
There were aslo other things to see and AVOID!!!!! Such as:

Of course, wherever, whenever he gets the chance, Jacob will throw in some kind of silliness.

As hard as it is to believe, he even put silliness in swimming:

They did get a chance to go to the "TRADING POST" and spend whatever money they had. Jacob enjoyed the slushies and various other snacks. He aslo got to have a little fun with the Marshmallow Shooter. Brian, do Brandon and Caleb have one yet?

Jacob later found out that they shoot NERF darts as well.

All in all, Jacob had a great time, but was VERY glad to get back home and sleep in his own bed. Lily was also very glad to have her big brother back. Truth be told, Candy and I were glad to have him back as well.

OK, that's all.

No need to try scrolling down, there's nothing there.

Quit staring and get back to work.

Chuck Norris loves Jesus and so should you.

Seriously, this is the last line.

You just had to look didn't you?

Summer Camp

Yes, I know that Jacob went to summer camp with his Boy Scout troop in JULY, but we just recently got our hands on a copy of the picture CD so we can now (finally) put a few shots of camp life up for all to see.

So this is how they "lived" for a short period of time. Not exactly the comfort and style.

This looks like it could be dangerous. However, the danger is yet to come.

Now that is some mighty fine dining.

Not-so-itsy-bitsy Boyscout climbiming up the wall....

DANGER! WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!

Ok, that's all for now. I'm tired and it's late. There will be more pictures and laughs to come.
For an idea of what the Troop is up to and to see more pics of other events, check them out at the Troop 85 website
