Spring Break

The kids had spring break last week. We didn't do much. I was able to take off work on Monday and Tuesday and Kermit took off Monday. We spent some time with my grandmother and then pretty much just hung out. Hannah is ready to go back to school. Jacob, of course, is not.

We have had a lot going on over the last few weeks. We started a bathroom remodel project. Hoping to have it finished soon. We finally have the walls up and the tub in. We are doing it ourselves and have learned a lot. When I say ourselves, I must mention that my brother is helping. He is a carpenter by trade, so he is making sure we are building something that will not fall down six months after we complete it. Our goal was to have it done before we went south. Our trip is coming in 10 days....I don't know if we are going to make it.

We took the car in for some routine work last week. It was all things that Kermit could do himself, but he has been so busy with the remodeling that we decided to go ahead and pay someone else to do it. Our check engine light had also come on so we needed to get that checked out. YOUCH!! Turns out we had a coolent leak at our intake manifold. I was not happy to pay that bill, but I was thankful to be able to. Guess the Lord knew it needed to be taken care of before our trip.

Speaking of the Lord, we got quite a surprise today. Kermit got an email from his classmate that is heading up the reunion. She asked Kermit to say the prayer at the reunion. This may not sound like much, but if you knew Kermit in high school, you would know he is completely different now. Well, maybe not completely different...he still can't sit still and is constantly telling corny jokes...but now he tells clean jokes and without the bottle of Jack and the cigarette. Anyway, he was excited at the opportunity. Thought it was neat.
