No Coincidence, I'm sure

So right now I am pretty involved at church. I'm teaching the women's Sunday School class and I am also on the Natural Church Development Committee. That may not sound like much, but both are requiring a LOT of time and effort. Don't misunderstand, it's positive effort, but I definitely hope it eases up a bit before VBS season starts!

Anyway, all of that to say this. Right now our women's class is working through the 'Disciple's Prayer Life' workbook. If you have never done this study, I really recommend it. It really brings you back to the basics - back to the foundational truths about why we pray, how we pray and why we should/can expect a response from Almighty God. At the beginning of the study, one of our ladies passed out a listing of the names of God and talked about how she has started realizing the power in praying the names of God.

Then, last week the study actually was focusing on the names of God and how/why we should use them in our prayers. It was really powerful to read the different names of God and really dig into what those names say about the character of God. All the while explaining how we should use that knowledge to enhance our prayer life and help us better understand our standing with Him.

So, this week as I was focusing on the names of God and His awesome nature when I got the newsletter from our good friends Tina and Daniel. If you don't know, they are missionaries in Iran Jaya. They are home on furlough, right now, but are going back soon. In their newsletter, they were talking about their pastor challenging them to begin praying the names of God and how much of a blessing it has been for them.

All of this could not be a coincidence! So, I will be going into this next week asking the Lord what it is He would have me to learn about the many facets of His nature. I encourage you all to start exploring the names of God. Sometimes it is the basic, foundational things that we learn the most from!

Hannah's Party

As mentioned earlier, I am posting a couple of pictures from Hannah's birthday party. She had such a great time. You'll notice Hannah's crazy hair. I tried to get her to leave it this way...but she wouldn't.
